1. Tell us about yourself and your business.

My name is Rosanje Michael, I’m a business developer, innovator, entrepreneur and global youth ambassador. I’m a young guy with great passion for creativity and innovation.

2. How much did you need to start your business and how were you able to raise that capital?

Interestingly, I started Guddies Planet with a well structured plan, well understood vision, and a sum of $1, which was used to print black and white posters around campus for publicity and awareness.

Products and service started on Whatsapp which lasted for like 6 days then demands led to moving on to a sub-hosting platform ( before getting a personal hosting and develop a personal website for Guddies Planet which was financed by a mentor after he got to know about the idea and got fascinated by it.

3. What are some of  the challenges you face in your business and how do you overcome those challenges?

Like most other startups and every other businesses, the major challenge has always been finance.  One of the ways I’m dealing with this is diversification, the emergence, growth and demands of Guddies Planet has given birth and still creating the avenue for the establishment of other solutions that will support and foster the vision.

While some other challenges are changing Nigerians (especially students) belief about online shopping, some have been duped and lost money online which made them assumed every online platform is a fraud. so changing this mindset and popular belief is a great challenge.

4. Where do you see your business in 5 years from now and what steps are you taking today to reach that objective?

In the next five (5) years, I see Guddies Planet among the top 10 online shopping malls in Nigeria and Africa, being the first and only online shopping mall targeting students across various institutions in Nigeria.

5. What advice would you give to entrepreneurs wanting to start a business or invest in Africa?

My advice to other entrepreneurs looking to start a business or invest in Africa is to first of all discover problems. I believe Africa is a continent of opportunities, because where there are problems, lies solutions and solutions creates opportunities, and most importantly their core value should always be to make an impart.

No matter how long you might have been in business, or struggling to grow your business, never give up because every business and entrepreneur has a pay day, keep on digging.
