Viva Global Services Limited (VGS) is a consulting company based in Kenya providing solutions to local and international markets. The company focuses on providing quality end to end solutions for their clients.
Here is an interview with the co-founder of Viva Global Services Limited, Jeremiah Okello, who’s part of the Africans Building Africa community.
1. Tell us about yourself and your business.
My Name is Jeremiah Okello, I am the CEO of Viva Global Services Limited. We are a Business Process Improvement and Outsourcing consulting Firm based in Nairobi, Kenya, with Operations across East Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania). We consult for both the Private and Public Sectors. One of our key services is B2B matchmaking between Operators in the region with potential buyers from across the globe.
2. How much did you need to start your business and how were you able to raise that capital?
We did not need a lot of Money to start the Business, all we needed was the idea, and the ability to identify where the services gaps are for our clients, then we crafted our services to fill those needs.
Once we had the gaps identified and the Business Model Developed. The remaining part was now to identify our target clients.
3. What are some of the challenges you face in your business and how do you overcome those challenges?
We Developed a model to support clients from all over the world, we have faced various challenges in tackling that market segment due to lack of recognition, a bit of financial challenges, and perception barrier from the Western markets towards African Businesses especially in the services sector.
4. Where do you see your business in 5 years from now and what steps are you taking today to reach that objective?
We want to be one of the Top BPO Service Providers in this region and servicing the International Market in 5 years. we have a strategic and deliberate effort to acquire Certifications, Accreditation and Compliance requirements to allow us to operate in the Key markets like the EU, UK, and North America. At the same time we are developing strategic partnerships to support our Market penetration.
5. What advice would you give to entrepreneurs wanting to start a business or invest in Africa?
Identify market gaps, develop services to fill those gaps, and then go to market, its that simple.
6. How is your business participating to the development of Africa?
One of our Strategic Plans is to Develop the uptake of Africa Service providers by the service buyers from the Key global Markets. The success of this will open up the Africa Sourcing Market and create Millions of jobs, while impacting on Communities
